AWACIO’S VISIT TO HERITAGE ORPHANAGE HOME
As part of AWACIO monthly activities, AWACIO made a visit to the Orphanage, and this time the Heritage Orphanage was visited on June 1, 2012. This Orphanage is owned by the Fresh Chapel Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. The orphanage started in 1998 at Mararaba, Nassarawa State, but was moved to Gwarinpa in 2009. The orphanage has a total number of 13 children in its care, and the children are between the ages of four weeks to two years.
The children reside in an environment that is clean and well maintained. AWACIO staff congratulated the orphanage for the healthy looking children and the neat environment. The children looked well fed and nurtured.
The orphanage consulting pastor, Pastor Biodun Lawal, used the opportunity to appreciate AWACIO staff for donations, and express some of the orphanage challenges to us. He stated that one of the challenges is in paying school fees for the children. The school fees amount to about N300,000.00 per term for four children. The other challenge is in the purchase of diesel that is used to run the generator that offsets the frequent power outage in the area.
AWACIO staff commended the orphanage and the environment. “We sincerely hope that other orphanages will work hard to look like the Heritage Orphanage”.
If you will like to assist us in supporting these orphanages please make your donations using our contact information or simply donate on our website. AWACIO appreciate your support.
