On the 16th of December, 2011, AWACIO visited the Abuja Children’s Orphanage Home at Karu in Abuja. A staff of the orphanage home, Mr. Ghian said the home was established since 1996.

The orphanage houses 56 orphans with 18 years old boy as the oldest while the youngest is a boy of about 3 months old. In all, there are twenty (20) nannies working in the orphanage.

According to one of the nannies, some of their challenges were food items, cereals, and pampas. They were very happy with our visit and asked us to come again.

Clothing items were given to the children and AWACIO promised the children to be back again but this time, with the Chief Executive Officer of the organization. 

Bead Making Training Session

On the 29th of May, 2012, AWACIO held a training conference for the widows in Bwari, Bwari Local Government Area, Abuja Nigeria. Over 100 widows gathered at the Bwari Women Center and were allowed to gain knowledge on certain skills. Trainers in the area of Bead making, Egg roll and Yam cake preparation were mobilized to teach the skills. The widows were also lectured on how to use their skills to multiply their talents, and improve their livelihood.
